Students Honored with Academic Scholarships, Fellowships, Prizes
On May 8, more than 300 Wesleyan students received University prizes and awards during a reception. Wesleyan's awards, prizes, and scholarships program connects recipients to the legacies of alumni, administrators, faculty, and friends of the university whose lives and work are honored through endowed gifts. Recipients of the academic scholarships, fellowships, and prizes represent the highest ideals of Wesleyan--intellectual curiosity, academic excellence, creative expression, leadership, and service.

Eastern ALANA Students Honored at 2019 Inclusive Excellence Awards
More than 200 Eastern Connecticut State University students of African, Latino, Asian and Native American (ALANA) descent were honored on May 9 at the 2019 Inclusive Excellence Awards. All students who were honored achieved an overall GPA of at least 3.5. An additional 11 students were recognized for demonstrating exemplary co-curricular engagement at Eastern.

Eastern Students Inducted into Women's and Gender Studies Honor Society
Eastern Connecticut State University held its inaugural Iota Iota Iota (Triota) induction on April 12, launching the Epsilon Gamma Chapter by recognizing student and alumni members. Triota is a national service-based Women's and Gender Studies honor society that promotes academic excellence and facilitates activism.

Eastern Biology Students Study in Deserts of the Southwest
Fifteen Eastern Connecticut State University students recently returned from the American Southwest after studying desert ecology in a global field course (GFC) with the biology department. The trip took place from March 9-17 and was supervised by professors Brett Mattingly and Matthew Graham.
